In 1967, amidst the rolling hills of Tuscany, Rolando Sturlini set out to create something enduringa family legacy built around craftsmanship, passion, and fine Italian leather. He founded “Navayos,” a small footwear factory rooted in the timeless values of Italian artistry.
With his wife, Anna, by his side as head of the stitching department, they launched a journey that would elevate the humble moccasin into a masterpiece. Anna’s skilled hands brought the designs to life, while Rolando’s vision guided them forward. Together with a team of master cobblers, they crafted shoes with precision and pride, pouring into each pair a love for details and the heritage of Tuscan leather.
Their legacy lives on today, with Rolando’s children, Alessio and Alessia, and grandson Edoardo, infusing the brand with fresh creativity and the same dedication. Through collaborations with top international fashion houses, Sturlini has grown into a symbol of Italian luxury worldwide. Since the mid-2000s, the family has proudly taken the Sturlini brand into the retail market, adorned with a crest inspired by Florence’s Medici family an emblem of their deep roots and rich Italian heritage.
Sturlini embodies more than five decades of craftsmanship, Italian spirit, and innovation. Our brand is a celebration of Tuscan artistry, with every shoe reflecting the region’s timeless beauty. In an era of mass production, we remain devoted to producing each shoe entirely in-house, using locally sourced materials and artisanal techniques handed down over generations.
This “return to the future” approach defines Sturlini’s identity. We marry traditional craftsmanship with sustainable, eco-friendly practices, using natural pigments, plant-based waxes, and vegetable-tanned leathers.
